About this Event

Flat River Indivisible is helping to collect donated non-food items from August 27th to September 24th for our local Food Pantry located at St. Mary's Catholic Church. This event is being held to bring awareness to the need for these items and the Rally on September 5th is intended to focus on the recent cuts to SNAP.

Donation Boxes will be located at various businesses in Carson City, Michigan, and we will have donation boxes available at the Rally as well.

Please note: A core principle behind Indivisible actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

What an absolutely fabulous turnout we had at our very first event - It far exceeded our expectations! We had a little over two dozen participants show up to help us bring awareness regarding the possible Medicaid and Medicare cuts that would affect our local rural hospital, University of Michigan Health-Sparrow in Carson City, Michigan this past Friday, June 20th. We partnered with Saugatuck Douglas Area Indivisible group to organize this event.

The lady pictured above in the golf cart is local resident Agnes McKenna who turned 100 years old this last March. She stayed for almost the entire 2 hours of the Rally!

And here's a video of the Rally. Erin, with the Saugatuck Douglas Indivisible shot the video!
